Spirit of Syracuse Becomes 2012 Region 16 Silver Medalists and Most Improved Chorus!
This April, at the 2012 Sweet Adelines, International Region 16 Contest, the Spirit of Syracuse finished as 2nd Place Regional Champions! Turning in yet another award-winning performance, the Spirit of Syracuse once again returns home with medals around their necks and the potential for a Wild Card Invitation to the 2013 Honolulu International Competition!
Finishing a huge 11 points ahead of their score from last year, the SOS also earned the coveted Most Improved Chorus Award! New this year, the chorus was awarded special Most Improved Chorus medals from Sweet Adelines, International and for many in the chorus, this award was the most meaningful after a year of incredibly hard work!
And finally, the SOS scored over 600 points in this year's contest, earning their director, Kay Crawford, the coveted Sweet Adelines, International title of Master Director! The chorus is incredibly proud of their Master Director and also became Master Singers for the second time in the last three years!
The Spirit of Syracuse Chorus is also very proud of its' three competing quartets this year - Skylark, Pitch Session, and Sweet Vibrations! All three quartets put out some of their best performances to date and truly did the chorus proud! Out of 24 quartets (Region 16's largest quartet contest ever), Skylark finished 11th, Pitch Session finished 14th, and Sweet Vibrations finished 16th!
