Progressive, Passionate, and Cutting Edge are just a few words used to define the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus in our mission to pass on our love of the Barbershop Style.
As members of the Greater New York/New Jersey Region 15 of Sweet Adelines International, we strive to be role models in both conduct toward our sister choruses as well as in our approach to educating our membership.
Our commitment to education is defined by a youth program second to none in our area. As host of our area's annual youth music festival, Say-aca-Fest and a co-founder of our very own youth a cappella camp, Lakeside A cappella, our chorus is driven to bring barbershop into the 21st century. We are doing our part to inspire, engage and welcome the next generation of barbershoppers.
Our look, our sound, our confidence and our pioneering educational programs help define us as the fearless and dynamic chorus that we are.
We are a group of women from all walks of life, who share a passion for music. In our 6 decade history as a proud Sweet Adelines International chorus, our members have entertained audiences throughout Central New York and even across North America.
Under the incredible music leadership of Co-Directors Alicia Caron and Sky Harris, we are moving forward into vocal music-making at its best. Our directors will tell you that even though we strive for excellence and compete both regionally and internationally, it's not about the score - it's about changing a room with our performances - it's about sharing our love of performance with each other and sharing our love of barbershop with the world.
Always welcoming new members who share the same passion for vocal excellence as we do, we continue to grow and educate all women who joyfully step up on the risers and share the magic that only 4-part a cappella music can create.
