Progressive, Passionate, and Cutting Edge are just a few words used to define the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus in our mission to pass on our love of the Barbershop Style.

As members of the Greater New York/New Jersey Region 15 of Sweet Adelines International, we strive to be role models in both conduct toward our sister choruses as well as in our approach to educating our membership.

Our Mission: The Spirit of Syracuse Chorus is committed to the music education of women of all ages, creating musical excellence in a warm, caring and supportive environment which encourages the personal growth and development of each member.

The Spirit of Syracuse is a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International -- a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education, performance and competition.

Alicia and Sky are accomplished music educators and performers with deep roots in barbershop and choral music. Alicia began her journey with Sweet Adelines at age 15, earned degrees in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and Arizona State University, and now teaches in the Liverpool Central School District while performing and leading award-winning ensembles. Sky, a second-generation barbershopper with a Master’s degree from Syracuse University, brings over 20 years of experience as a performer, clinician, and program founder, and is a recognized leader in music education and youth barbershop advocacy.

It has been proven many times that choral music is good for you in so many ways!

Rehearsals

The Spirit of Syracuse Chorus rehearses Tuesday Nights from 7:00-10:00pm.
